BLACK OUT Initiative
The BLACK OUT Initiative is a community-driven, nonpartisan effort focused on informing, empowering, and increasing civic participation among Black/African American voters throughout Brevard County in preparation for the 2026 Midterm Elections.
The initiative is rooted in the belief that informed citizens make stronger communities. Through voter education, community conversations, candidate engagement, and issue-based advocacy, BLACK OUT seeks to ensure that the voices, concerns, and priorities of the Black community are heard and respected by those seeking public office.
In addition to encouraging voter participation, the initiative will gather input from residents regarding the tangible issues that directly impact their families, businesses, neighborhoods, and future opportunities. These community priorities will be presented to elected officials and candidates as a clear statement of the policies, investments, and outcomes the community expects from its leaders.
The goal is simple: to strengthen the influence of the Black community through informed voting, civic engagement, accountability, and a united voice focused on achieving meaningful results for future generations.
